A Bay Village police officer on patrol stopped at vehicle on July 6, 2012 at approximately
1:53am for a traffic violation. The driver’s actions indicated he was under the influence of
drugs and he was arrested for DUI. During an inventory of the vehicle, marijuana and drug
paraphernalia was discovered. The 18 year old male faces multiple charges in Rocky River
On July 6, 2012, a resident on Lake Forest reported her phone stolen in the last 3-4 weeks. She
received an $800 phone bill for calls she did not make. Police are investigating.
While checking for curfew violators at Columbia Road Beach on July 7, 2012, an officer located
3 juveniles and an 18 year old. One of the juveniles and the 18 year old had been drinking and
were in possession of alcohol. Both of these males were charged with underage consumption
and park curfew and released to their parents.
On July 7, 2012 at 9:10am, a resident of Rexford reported that a white male driving a black Kia
exposed himself to her in front of her home. As the female resident was attempting to get
a license number, the male sped off. She further described the male as being 22-33 years of
age, medium build with a light complexion. He had a short, military style hair cut with closely
trimmed facial hair. The vehicle had a chrome molding along the back of the deck lid and a
clean, tan interior. She does not believe the plate was an Ohio plate, but possibly a Michigan or
older style New York plate.
A resident on Pellet reported on July 7, 2012 that his wife’s purse was taken from their vehicle
within the last couple days. The vehicle had been in their attached garage. The resident was
advised to cancel her credit cards, contact the Bureau of Motor Vehicles and put a fraud alert
on her accounts with the major credit bureaus.
On July 8, 2012 at 1:36am an officer on patrol heard a vehicle being operated at a high rate of
speed before hearing a loud crash. The officer responded to the area of a crash and found a
heavily damage vehicle and two adults outside the car. The female operator told the officer
she was traveling at a high rate of speed on Osborn and could not stop at Cahoon. The vehicle
struck a telephone guide wire, causing heavy front need damage. Both occupants were
intoxicated and placed under arrest. The 22 year old female was charged with DUI and the 20
year old male was charged with underage possession of alcohol, open container of alcohol and
having a fake driver’s license.
