An employee of a Center Ridge Rd. gas station found the door unlocked on August 21 at 5:46AM. $117
was missing from the cash register. The station’s camera system showed a former employee entering
the station shortly after the previous night’s closing. Breaking and Entering and Possession of Criminal
Tools warrants will be obtained for the 42-year-old Avon Lake woman involved.

A 23-year-old Fairview Park man wiped out while rollerblading on the Clague Rd. overpass at I90 on
August 21 at 6:08AM. Suspicious minds might think that the marijuana and pot pipe on his person had
something to do with the demonstrated lack of coordination; he will be summonsed for Possession of
Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia. Westlake FD took him to St. John Medical Center for a checkup.

A Dover Center Rd. business’s 2 a/c units were stolen on the night of August 20. Unknown suspect(s)
cut the water and power lines and removed the units from their pads in the rear of the building. Loss is
estimated at $8000.

A $500 cellphone belonging to a 15-year-old Westlake boy was stolen from a locked locker at the High
School on August 21 between 3P-6PM. No suspects.

A security officer recognized a known shoplifter inside his Detroit Rd. store on August 22 at 7:20PM.
He requested that a police officer be in the area. The 48-year-old Cleveland man exited the store with 2
vacuums (total value $820), then ran when approached by WPD and the security officer. He was caught
and arrested for Petty Theft.

Two Westlake men that are in business together reported that unknown suspect(s) had filed tax returns
with the IRS using their social security numbers. The problem was detected by their accountant on
August 22.

A Westford Cr. woman found that $100 cash, a gift card, and a small can of pepper spray were
taken from her unlocked 2010 Ford Fusion on the night of August 21. Nearby, a 2008 Nissan Rogue
belonging to a Trotters Ridge woman was also entered on that night. $50 cash, a $40 purse, and a $200
GPS were taken. No signs of forced entry in the latter and no suspects in either.

On August 23, a Wakefield Ln. woman reported that two rings were at least $2200 were taken from her
home between July 27 and August 20. She suspects cleaners; the investigation continues.

Two males stole an 18pack of beer from a Detroit Rd. gas station on August 24 at 2:24AM. They were
stopped at Detroit Rd. and Fernwood Dr. The driver (31-year-old Parma Hts. Man) was arrested for OVI
BAC (.141 breath test), Petty Theft, and Seatbelt Required. The passenger (32-year-old Rocky River
man) was arrested for DCI and Petty Theft.
