FITZGERALD ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENTS FOR CLERK OF COURTS, SHERIFF AND TREASURER

Andrea Rocco is Clerk of Courts

CLEVELAND – Cuyahoga County Executive Ed FitzGerald submitted appointments for three leadership positions to the Cuyahoga County Council today. Andrea Rocco has been appointed Clerk of Courts; Frank Bova has been appointed Sheriff, and Mark Parks has been appointed Treasurer.  These selections follow the public posting of these positions and an interview process.  The County Executive’s appointments are subject to confirmation by the Cuyahoga County Council, as outlined in the Cuyahoga County Charter.

 Each of these individuals has served in an interim role since each position was vacated.

 Rocco has served as Special Counsel to the County Executive since 2011.  She has been the Prosecutor and Assistant Director of Law for the City of Westlake since 2002, and served as an Assistant Ohio Attorney General.  She is a graduate of the Cleveland Marshall College of Law and Ohio University.

 Bova has been a law enforcement professional since 1985, when he joined the Cleveland Division of Police.  Bova was Police Chief of Warrensville Heights from 2000 to 2010, and also served as Interim Cuyahoga County Sheriff in 2009.  Bova has been a Captain in the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s office since 2010.

 Parks is a Certified Public Accountant and currently serves as Director of Special Projects and Acting Controller for the county.  For the last 15 years, he has served in a variety of financial management roles in the public and non-profit sectors and holds a Bachelors degree in Business Administration and Political Science, and a Masters in Business Administration.
