Westlake Plans City-Wide Bike Path

Westlake is ready to become much more bike-friendly, thanks to a comprehensive plan for a city-wide bike path approved by the Planning Commission.

Connecting city landmarks like the Westlake Recreation Center, Westlake Porter Library and more will make Westlake bike accessible and also allow filing for federal funding to support the network of bike paths.

Bike lanes, nature trails and more will be added in phases, leading up to an eventual continuous loop through Westlake and even parts of Bay Village.

The study for the Bike Path was made possible through a grant from the Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency. Questionnaires established routes residents prefer. Crocker Park and the city’s parks topped the list of bike-friendly destinations.
