Over 80 local kids benefit from Mercy sports camp presented by 12-time NFL Pro-Bowler Will Shields
(Lorain) – Today kicked off the first of a special three day intensive sports camp for young athletes, presented by Mercy and Will Shields12-time Pro Bowler and former NFL guard, along with professional baseball and soccer players.
The camp is a chance for young athletes to learn from the best, including Shields and his staff of professionals in a personal, hands-on setting. Attendees are learning all the right moves from professional players who know them best!
The camp is taking place at the elite performance facilities of Rival Sports in Lorain, near Mercy Regional Medical Center.
Will Shields enjoyed great success at the University of Nebraska. Shields was the Kansas City Chiefs first pick in the third round of the 1993 NFL Draft. During his career with the Chiefs, Shields built his reputation as one of the finest linemen in the NFL. He posted 230 consecutive starts during his career and was a 12-time Pro Bowler. In 2012, Shields was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame and the Kansas City Chiefs Hall of Fame. In 2013, he was one of the finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
