The best of Cleveland has come to the West Side.

That is the only way to describe Bistro83, the upscale culinary delight now open at Mills Road and Route 83 at the Avon-North Ridgeville line.

With Executive Chef Jon Frommeyer in the kitchen and General Manager Jeremy Kavc assuring excellence, Bistro83 is now home to everything from mouth-watering gourmet scallops and steaks to salads, sandwiches and more.

The team, says owner Bud Hagy, has worked to combine atmosphere, fabulous cuisine and great pricing into a winning combination.

“We have worked hard to put it all together here,” says Hagy, pointing to specialty beer taps under a waterfall, a cozy wine tasting room, patio for al fresco dining and fireplace for warm winter meals.

In addition to great food, Bistro83 is also a specialty wine and martini bar. “We have a great happy hour with appetizers and small plates, and also a weekend brunch,” said Hagy.

“You can get a burger or you can get an entree – we serve the customers’ needs and wants,” says Kavc, emphasizing that the focus will be on “healthy and seasonal fresh menus.”

Hagy is well-known to the West Side as former owner of North Coast Bearings and founder of the annual Celebrate Westlake North Coast Challenge 5-Mile Run each September on the grounds of St. John Medical Center.

“I have always wanted to give back to community. Bistro83 gives back in a different way,” says Hagy as the restaurant has created 27 new jobs, commits to healthy eating for a complete lifestyle and even is involved in green conscious policies like total recycling. “We are one of the only places around committed to recycling glass, and we will be doing that a lot with all our beer and wine containers.”

Opened just under a month, Bistro83 is already attracting attention as proved by its busy dinner hours and active bar scene. $5 happy hours weekdays 3-6 p.m. Located at 36033 Westminster Road, North Ridgeville. www.Bistro83.com.
