On 07/07/2013, at 2123 hours, BVPD officers were called to the Bay Village Skate and Bike Park for a fight. There was an argument between 14 and 16 year old males over a bicycle. Officers settle the dispute and returned the bike to the owner.
On 07/07/2013, at 0056 hours, a BVPD officer was flagged down by a 15-year old male at Play In Bay. The male claimed a friend of his had injured his knee while playing in the closed park, and needed an ambulance. The 18-year old male victim was transported to the hospital for treatment. As officers spoke with the 15 year oldmale and 19 year old male who were still on scene, they discovered that the 15-year old, who did not have a driver’s license, had taken his mother’s car without permission and picked up two of his older friends in North Olmsted. They drove around for a little while before ending up at Play In Bay. They were both arrested for various offenses. While searching them after the arrest, drug paraphernalia was located on the 19-year old. There was a distinct odor of marijuana coming from the car they had arrived in. The vehicle was searched and more drug paraphernalia was located in the vehicle. The juvenile will face charges at Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court. The two adults will face charges at Rocky River Municipal Court.
A Huntington Woods resident reported on 7/7/2013 that three high school sports signs were removed from her yard.
On 07/06/2013, at 2013 hours, a Bay Village PD officer stopped a vehicle on Dover Center near Normandy for a traffic violation. After speaking with the 33-year old male, the officer suspected the driver had been drinking. Field sobriety test were administered, and as a result, the male was arrested for OVI. He will face charges at Rocky River Municipal Court.
On 07/04/2013, at 2327 hours, BVPD officers were dispatched to the area behind Heinen’s on the report of a fistfight that was getting ready to start. Officers responded to the area and located a highly intoxicated 18-year old male walking around the parking lot looking for his keys. There were no signs of a fight and the male claimed to only be looking for his keys. He admitted to drinking, and admitted that he was drunk. He was arrested for Underage Consumption of Alcohol. He will face charges at Rocky River Municipal Court.
