COLUMBUS – This coming Wednesday, August 7, Congressman Jim Jordan will meet with area small-business owners over lunch at Wood & Wine in Avon, Ohio to update them on legislation in Washington, DC that could be impacting their operations.
Approximately 20 local small-business owners will attend this quarterly meeting of the NFIB/Ohio Area Action Council. NFIB has been active on the federal public policy level in several coalitions; Stop the HIT (health insurance tax) and Small Businesses for Sensible Regulations. Additionally, NFIB will discuss the delay in the mandate for businesses to provide healthcare.
Finally, members of the NFIB/Ohio staff will provide an update on the Ohio General Assembly, with regard to the tax reforms in the state budget that passed in June, and other important small business issues that may be moving through the Ohio legislature this fall, including municipal tax reform.
NFIB has 25,000 members in Ohio and over 350 in Lorain County.
