Lake Erie Nature & Science Center kicks off the Holiday season with the welcome return of the Christmas Carousel Craft Fair, presented by the Center’s Women’s Board. The annual event returns on Saturday, November 2 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Shoppers can choose from an exciting mix of arts, crafts, handmade goods and more from over 20 local artisans and vendors. Avoid the holiday stress, crowded malls and mass-produced items by shopping this local event which also benefits the Center.
The $3 admission fee allows access to all the vendors as well as one free entry in the Carousel Raffle. Visitors can also take advantage of a selection of food, refreshments and homemade baked goods to be enjoyed at the event or as a treat for later. Parking is free across Huntington Reservation and complimentary shuttle service will be available to transport guests to and from their cars.
Shoppers are encouraged to bring along the whole family to enjoy the Center’s free live animal exhibits, walk in the beautiful Reservation and take in a star show in the Planetarium.
The fair and sale was conceived by the Center’s Women’s Board 45 years ago as a holiday fundraiser for the non-profit Center. In existence since 1954, the Women’s Board has supported the Center through service, leadership, community awareness and fundraising. Women of all ages, skills, experiences and talents are part of this dedicated group of volunteers. Members meet monthly for meetings, socials and crafts, and educational programs.
