“We are celebrating the 50th anniversary of the College this year. We opened our doors in 1963 with 3,000 students standing in line around the block to register for classes, and now we have grown to more than 30,000,” said Dr. Johnson as he welcomed guests

“Tri-C is a great institution, and Cleveland is a community I know well. We are looking forward to becoming even more engaged in our local communities throughout Cuyahoga County to create even more pipelines for our students.”

Dr. Johnson named Dr. Terri Pope interim campus president for the Westshore Campus in Westlake at the event. Dr. Pope replaces Dr. J. Michael Thomson, who has been reassigned as campus president to the Tri-C Eastern Campus in Highland Hills.

Also in attendance were Dr. Ron Liss, President of Cuyahoga Community College’s Western Campus, and Dr. Michael Schoop, President of Tri-C’s Metropolitan Campus.

It was a great day and a great way to bring awareness of Tri-C’s many educational opportunities to Westlake. Community leaders came out in strong support of the school by their attendance at this event.
