The goal of the Westshore Regional CERT (WSC) is to help citizens prepare for disasters common in the area, to have the skills to capably handle a variety of emergency situations, and to be a vital extension of emergency response services when needs outweigh resources. The goal of Cuyahoga County District 1 Council Representative Dave Greenspan’s Friends for the Community Foundation is to support, promote, and enhance the quality of life, public safety initiatives, programs, and services within the Westshore communities.
The annual Friends for the Community Foundation Public Safety Charity Softball Tournament honors our hometown heroes and raises funds for the Westshore CERT and Olmsted CERT through friendly competition and family fun. At November’s Westshore Council of Governments meeting Dave Greenspan presented the teams with the grants.
The WSC thanks the Friends for the Community Foundation, our participating responders, and the generous sponsors such as Morris Cadillac that make this support possible. The team continues to serve as valuable insurance for our Westshore neighborhoods, making us more disaster resistant and resilient.
