Mondays, December 2, 9 and 16 (4-5:45 p.m.) Teen Lounge—Need a place to hang out after school? Come to WPPL’s Teen Lounge on Monday afternoons! We’ve got computers, video games, board games, snacks, and more!

Monday, December 2 (7-8:30 p.m.) Mother-Daughter DIY Beauty – Enjoy some relaxing one-on-one time with your Mom. Learn how to live greener and have healthier skin by making your own custom beauty and spa products. All supplies will be provided and you will take home the products you make, along with instructions for making more. Please note that a variety of oils and other natural materials will be used. Please contact us if you have any questions about allergens. Grades 7-12.

Tuesday, December 3 (10 a.m.-Noon) Results-Oriented Resumes—In the current job market, competition is tough and employers are swamped with resumes. This workshop will teach you what will catch the employers’ attention and make them want to call you.

Wednesdays, December 4, 11 and 18 (10:15-10:45 a.m. or 11-11:30 a.m.) Let’s Sing and Dance! — Join us for a fun session of singing and dancing for children ages 2-6 with a caregiver. Space is limited, so please arrive early enough to receive a ticket at the Preschool Desk.

Wednesdays, December 4, 11 and 18 (4-5:30 p.m.) Books With Bella— Stop by the Youth Services Department each Wednesday and sign your child up for a 10-minute reading time with Bella the Bulldog! Bring your own book to share with Bella or choose one of ours. Registration begins every Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. No session on December 25.

Friday, December 6 (10-11 a.m.) The Ohio Dance Theatre Presents The Nutcracker—Dancers from The Ohio Dance Theatre will present an introduction to The Nutcracker and will bring some of their costumes for kids to see up close!  Ages 3-6. Registration begins November 29.

Friday, December 6 (10-11 a.m. OR 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.) Connecting for Kids “Teach Me to Play”—Experts from the Cuyahoga Board of Developmental Disabilities will lead this playgroup for children 3-6 years (siblings welcome). Its focus is teaching parents how to help their children engage in play and interact with peers, and positively discipline through hands-on modeling techniques. Caregiver must stay in the room. Saturday, December 7 (2-3:30 p.m.) and Friday, December 20 (10-11:30 a.m.) Connecting for Kids Parent Discussion Group—Parent discussion group led by a local pediatric expert. Tuesday, December 10 (10 a.m.-Noon) Applications That Get Noticed—These days most job applications are scanned for keywords for the skills, education, or experience that are most important to the employer, as well as for keywords that may be used to screen candidates out. Learn how to tackle questions on an application to be sure yours will be read.

Tuesday, December 10 (7 p.m.) Tuesday Evening Book Discussion—This month we’ll discuss The Walk by Richard Paul Evans.

Wednesday, December 11 (5-5:45 p.m.) The Book-a-holics: Tween Book Club—Join us for discussions about books, audio, apps and more. Grades 5-7. Please register.

Friday, December 13 (Siblings – Ages 1-6: 9:30-10 a.m.) (Toddler – Under Age 3: 10:30-11 a.m.) (Preschool – Ages 3-6: 11:30 a.m.-Noon) Music Therapy & More—Connecting for Kids and the Music Therapy Enrichment Corps will teach parents and caregivers how to have a direct role in bringing music to life at home, at school, and in the community. Saturday, December 14 (10:30-11:30 a.m.) Pokemon League—Bring your cards and accessories for a fun morning of play! For kids ages 6-12 only. Please, no younger siblings. Registration begins December 7.

Saturday, December 14 (2-2:45 p.m.) Gingerbread Fun!—Create your own gingerbread house with us! Just bring your sweet imagination; we’ll supply all the parts and pieces. Ages 7-10. Registration begins December 7.

Monday, December 16 (7-8:30 p.m.) Investor Interest Group2013: The Year in Review– Ian Abbott will discuss where the best performers were in 2013. He will also look at what is happening now and what you can do to benefit from it. Please register.

Tuesday, December 17 (10 a.m.-Noon) Career Transition Center: Improving Interviewing Skills—Preparation is the essential ingredient for a successful job interview. Learn how to discover what the employer needs so that your answers will differentiate you from other candidates.

Wednesday, December 18 (7-7:45 p.m.) Stuffed Animal Sleepover—Drop off your favorite stuffed animal by 8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 17. Come to our bedtime storytime the following evening to pick it up and find out what happened overnight! Ages 3-6. Registration begins December 11.

Saturday, December 21 (10:30-11 a.m.) Mother Goose on the Loose!—Join Mother Goose for this interactive storytime featuring simple books, rhymes, songs and movement. For ages birth-3 years old with adult caregiver. No registration.

Tuesday, December 31 (11:15 a.m.-Noon) Countdown to Noon Family Storytime—Join us for a family storytime celebrating our favorite stories, songs and rhymes. We’ll make a simple craft and do a countdown to 12:00 (noon). Ages 3-5. Registration begins Dec. 23.

Tuesday, December 31 (1-2 p.m.) Survivor: New Year’s Eve Edition—Celebrate the end of 2013 with an afternoon of action-packed games. Grades 1-3. Registration begins December 23.
