As Stated – Tis The Season – Time to Remember and be Thankful to all that our Active Military and Military Veterans have done for each and everyone of us here in the good old USA! Therefore, This Parents Without Partners Chapter (PWP #1395), is proud to announce that it has decided to donate ALL profits from our Annual Christmas Dance to support The Greater Cleveland Fisher House.

A Fisher House is “a home away from home” for families of patients receiving medical care at major military and VA medical centers. The wives, husbands, children, mothers and fathers of injured, wounded or seriously ailing vets from all wars are given a place to stay within a few hundred yards of their loved one as the homes are normally located within walking distance of the treatment facility or have transportation available. Families are acutely aware that their veteran’s own life is now changed and that their family life and its tomorrows are altered. Family members are a vital part of any treatment and their involvement makes it much more likely to stay intact. We deeply and firmly believe that spouses and families are integral to any healing process thus ensuring that the veteran has personal and emotional support as he or she is surgically, medically, therapeutically and/or psychologically treated. These families of veterans being treated at the Cleveland V.A., Cleveland Clinic, University Hospitals, Metro or any specialty hospital may stay free of charge at a Fisher House.

Why is there a need for a Fisher House in Cleveland – Here’s the answer:

The Cleveland V.A. is now the 2nd largest V.A. in the U.S. After a $750 million dollar expansion the Louis Stokes VA Medical Center is a poly-trauma facility and leads the internationally renowned Cleveland medical community in patient outcomes. It draws veterans from all over the country. Additionally, The Cleveland V.A. is now a ‘step-down’ treatment center for Walter Reed and Bethesda as our V.A. is ranked #1 for its 8 “Centers of Excellence.”

The music will cover the 60’s to present day featuring sounds of the holiday season to include: Rock N Roll, R & B, Line Dances, Disco, Slow Dances and some Country. Rumor has it that Santa is trying to squeeze this one into his busy schedule too. The cost is $8 per person at the door and will include: DJ, table munchies, great dance floor, cash bar, festive party atmosphere and a wonderful fundraising opportunity! Don’t miss out, be a part of the “attenDANCE” and join in the holiday good cheer. It will offer a Fun and Safe atmosphere to enjoy yourself and make some new friends.
