Community Resource Services 25th annual Charity Ball held at LaCentre in Westlake was a hit Saturday, Jan. 25
The Silver Anniversary Charity Ball was the best one ever, breaking records in both attendance and money raised for this important organization that serves the needs of low to moderate income residents of Avon and Avon Lake.
“The Silver Anniversary Charity Ball was a huge success! 345 guests braved the winter weather to come out and support Community Resource Services and the work that we do to help diminish the effects of poverty in Avon and Avon Lake,” said Pam Ohradzansky, Special Events Coordinator CRS. “It was an evening of celebrating the difference that CRS has made in the lives of so many families over the years, in addition to paying tribute to the many who’ve supported us since our inception.”
CRS has come a long way since 1988, growing from a volunteer-only organization to a resource with five paid staff and a large and dedicated group of volunteers who work the front desk, pack and sort groceries, help with fundraising, and perform many mission-oriented tasks.
“In the early years, we served about 125 families annually. More recently, our numbers have neared the 500 mark,” reports Executive Director Susan Poole. “We are proud of the profound community impact we have made in the last quarter century, and grateful for all the ways in which we have been able to help those in need.”
Cocktails, live auctions, fabulous sinner and music by Midtown made the CRS Silver Anniversary Ball a night to remember!
