At the Avon Safety Fair…

The first-ever Avon Safety Fair hosted May 3 at Avon High was great chance for kids of all ages to get a first hand look at things you usually only see on TV. In this photo, a student visitor tries on a Bomb Helmet. In other activities, guests had a chance for up-close visits with helicopters, a police dog demonstration, search and rescue boats, fire trucks, SWAT units and more. Co-hosted by Avon Police and Fire Departments, boys and girls got to sit in the cabs of fire trucks and the front seats of police cars.

Inside Avon High, displays demonstrated and informed the public on keeping their families and neighborhoods safe and prepared.
