Dave Greenspan, District One Cuyahoga County Councilman, kicked off his 2014 re-election bid in fine style last week, welcoming Secretary of State Jon Husted to his annual Spring Dinner at the Rocky River Civic Center June 4.
Other dignitaries included Cuyahoga County Executive Jack Schron, Westlake Mayor Dennis Clough, Rocky River Mayor Pamela Bobst and others.
Greenspan focused on his vision for charter government in Cuyahoga County that will support an atmosphere of honesty and integrity and instill a sense of confidence and trust that government is working for all residents and as well as the business community. He promised to reach beyond party lines and look to the greater good for all constituents.
Husted, the state’s top election officer, offered encouragement to all voters to take to the polls in every election. “You may think your vote doesn’t count. But it does,” said Husted. He reported that 43 candidate races or issues in 2013 throughout Ohio were decided by one vote. “Every vote does matter,” he said.
