Mercy Foundation of Lorain County celebrated its 10th annual ‘Taste of Friendship’ gala event last Friday, Sept. 12, at the Mercy Medical Center.
Proceeds from 2014 Taste of Friendship will benefit the Mercy Birthing Center. The Taste of Friendship event showcases some of the area’s finest restaurants while annually raising funds for vitally important programs and services at Mercy.
Attendees enjoyed the camaraderie of friends, exciting raffle prizes, and the delectable culinary craftings of Lorain’s finest chefs and bakers.
Taste of Friendship began in 2004 by Dr. Mario Sertich and his wife, Mary Lynn. Over the years, the community has generously supported essential programs including the Wound Care Center, the Women’s Health Center, the Center for Body, Mind and Spirit and the Mercy Health and Recreation Center through the Taste of Friendship event.
“This 10-year milestone would not be possible without the continued and generous support of our entire Lorain community,” said Scott Pember, President, Mercy Foundation.
This year’s event support’s the enhancement of the facilities and services of the Mercy Birth Center at Mercy Regional Medical Center. The Mercy Birthing Center offers a Level IIB neonatal intensive care unit combined with high-quality labor and delivery programs. The funds from this year’s gala will help renovate waiting areas and enhance existing offerings to create the most modern, comfortable facility possible.
