Over 1000 Take Part in ‘Walk to End Alzheimer’s’ at All-Pro Stadium

DSC_5188-5Over 1000 walkers enjoyed glorious fall skies as they took part in the annual Alzheimer’s Association ‘Walk to End Alzheimer’s’ at All-Pro Stadium in Avon Sunday.

The turnout demonstrated that there are many people in our community who will never forget those special loved ones who are unable to remember.

From hand-painted signs, to customized t-shirts honoring a friend or relative, to a wheelchair carrying remembrances of grandpa, the the 2014 Walk to Remember made an important statement: That those who are deeply forgetful will always be remembered.

In addition to the top teams, participants and companies who worked so hard to make this event a success, the intentions of all participants and their heartfelt connections in the fight to end Alzheimer’s stand equally tall.

“We are so grateful to the community for their unwavering support of the Alzheimer’s Association. It was wonderful to see such a great turnout for our annual event. The funds raised will provide care and support services to the 210,000 residents of Ohio living with Alzheimer’s, while also contributing to advancing critically needed research,” said Melissa Zapanta Shelton, Vice President, Fund Development, Alzheimer’s Association Cleveland Area Chapter.
