Avon POW/MIA Recognition Day Ceremony September 16

pow-mia-1In 1979, the US Congress passed a resolution designating National POW/MIA Recognition Day. Since 1986, the third Friday in September has been observed as this day of recognition.

Please join us on Friday, September 16, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. in front of the Avenbury Lakes Lodge at 35400 Middleton, Avon, Ohio. We will honor and reflect on those who served in the Armed Forces, who went to war and never returned because they are listed as Missing In Action. There are nearly 2,000 Americans still prisoner, missing and unaccounted for from the war in Southeast Asia. For the first time, the POW/MIA flag will be flown from the flagpole at Avenbury Lakes. The flag will arrive via the Riders of American Legion Post 118, Amherst, Ohio.

Refreshments will served afterwards. Thank you for your consideration in helping us honor all POW/MIA veterans.
