Bay Resident Reports Double Car Theft

Bay Village Police received a call on March 5 at 0751 hrs. from a resident on Oakmoor to report that overnight both of his Hondas were apparently stolen.

police_bay-village2_disclaimerThe officer dispatched to investigate determined the complainant’s 2016 Honda Civic had been parked in the driveway while his 2016 Honda Accord had been parked in the street.

Both of the vehicles had been left unlocked, with keys to both vehicles being inside the Civic parked in the driveway.

A theft report was taken.

Impaired Drivers

On 03/02/2017, at 0026 hrs, a BVPD officer stopped a vehicle on Manchester in the intersection of Huntington Woods suspecting the driver to be impaired. After another officer arrived, the 59-year-old male was asked to perform field sobriety tests, which he failed. The Westlake resident was arrested and transported back to the police station where he was processed and released on personal bond to his wife.

On 03/05/2017, at 0315 hrs, a BVFD officer stopped a vehicle at the intersection of Wolf and Glendenning suspecting the driver to be impaired. After another officer arrived, the 59-year-old male was asked to perform field sobriety tests, which he failed. The Willoughby resident was arrested and transported back to the police station for processing. He refused to call for a ride so he was placed in a cell to sleep it off. Later in the morning, he was released on personal bond.
