TV star and Hollywood’s Advocate for Addiction Awareness and Education to Share Stories of Addiction and Recovery
TV star, movie actress, author and recovery counselor, Mackenzie Phillips, will be the keynote speaker this year at The LCADA Way Pearls of Wisdom Annual Recognition Dinner to be held October 26, 2017, at the Emerald Event Center in Avon, Ohio. The LCADA Way, a private, non-profit organization that serves Lorain and Medina Counties and surrounding communities, has been recognized as a proven leader in wellness and addiction recovery since 1981.
Mackenzie Phillips will share stories of how she and her famous musical family struggled with drug addiction, abuse and recovery, as well as a behind-the-scenes look at her life as a Hollywood celebrity.

(Laura) Mackenzie Phillips is an actress, singer and author, best known for her roles in the classic coming-of-age film American Graffiti, the hit TV sitcom One Day At A Time, and the Disney Channel science fiction show So Weird. She is the daughter of John Phillips, famous singer in the Mamas & the Papas, and his first wife, Susan Adams. Her firsthand stories of life in Hollywood, her battle with addiction and recovery, and her newfound career as recovery counselor are sure to make for a memorable evening.
The LCADA Way Pearls of Wisdom Annual Recognition Dinner is held each year to honor individuals and organizations who help those affected by drug, alcohol and gambling addiction. A Community Service Award is presented at the dinner to honor individuals recognized for outstanding dedication and commitment to helping those affected by addiction. Additionally, the Howard Marusa Award is presented to individuals recognized for of their selfless giving and dedication to saving lives and reuniting families impacted by drug and alcohol addiction.

The LCADA Way, serving Lorain and Medina Counties and surrounding communities, helps those dealing with drug, alcohol and gambling addiction.
