The Avon Early Childhood PTA (AECPTA) is looking to add new members, as well as renew current members during the club’s annual Membership Drive scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 8th from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Schwartz Road Park Pavilion in Avon.
We will have fun activities for the kids including snacks, bounce house, balloon artist and a bubble show from 6:30 to 7:30 with the world record holing bubble doctor! This is a great night of fun and learning what AECPTA has to offer families with kids 0-5 years of age! Kids Kloset tables will go on sale at this time as well!
AECPTA board members will be on hand to answer any questions regarding the club and membership benefits. Membership dues are $30 for the 2017-2018 and checks will be accepted on the day of the event or you can go green and join or renew online at AECPTA (www.avonecpta.org).
“We are looking forward to the 2017-2018 school year and have so many wonderful and fun events planned for our families this year. We have an amazing board who has gone above and beyond and we look forward to all this year will offer,” Kathleen Quinn, President Avon Early Childhood PTA AECPTA is a family organization providing educational and social activities for parents, caregivers, and children from birth through Kindergarten in Avon and the surrounding communities. AECPTA offers members an abundance of entertaining and educational monthly activities as well as special events throughout the year.
A popular fundraising event from the AECPTA is the Kids Kloset semi-annual consignment sale. This year, the sale will be held again at the NEW Avon Middle School (3445 Long Rd). The event brings parents together and offers a smart way to earn money for outgrown children’s items while offering new parents the opportunity to purchase needed items at a fraction of the cost. Club members receive early registration for tables.
The club offers many options for young families to meet and get involved in the community; we have playgroups, and fieldtrips, plus parent-only activities so that every member of the family can feel included.
The club also gives back to the community. The group provides household good donations to Blessing House, which is a local charity that offers children a place to stay when their families are facing an emergency. AECPTA collects donations for Blessing House at the club’s many family events throughout the year. We also work with many other charitable organizations throughout Lorain County, especially those who work with families in need.
Since the AECPTA has members that include children from birth to six-years-old, we constantly have new families joining and existing families moving on to other groups in the community once they “graduate” from ours. It is vitally important for our group that new members join and get involved so that the club can continue to serve the youngest members of our community and their families.
Please join us for a year of new friendships, community involvement, and enriching experiences for you and your family! General meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of the month Sept.-May, at 7 p.m. at Avon Heritage North Elementary School (35575 Detroit Road). Babysitting for the meeting is provided for all potential and current members free of charge.
AECPTA started as Avon Preschool Parent’s Club and has since grown to become a part of the Ohio and National PTA. The club is not affiliated with any specific school or program in Avon.
