Dwyer Sr. Center – Sole Mates Walking and Wellness Challenge: Kick-off – Friday, August 4 – Bay residents ages 50 + are eligible. Bay Village Seniors will be challenging Avon, Lakewood, North Olmsted, Rocky River, North Ridgeville and Westlake Senior Centers Kick-off: Friday August 4th from 1-4 p.m. at St. John Medical Center, 29000 Center Ridge Rd., Westlake, Auditorium Room B Building 2. Begin and end this 6 week walking challenge with a health and wellness screening from SJMC RNs. Each participating senior center will be screened before the kick-off: BP, cholesterol, glucose, BMI and waist circumference. Then socialize with and walk around the beautiful SJMC campus track. You will receive a pedometer to count your steps! The challenge ends on the September 15th with another evaluation at SJMC. Prizes will be awarded at a date to be announced. The Bay Village walking club will continue every Friday, for as long as the weather cooperates. Get up, get moving, get healthy and let’s bring home the prize! Register at 835-6565 by July 28th.

Cleveland Shakespeare Festival’s Production of MACBETH: Friday, August 4 – At the Cahoon Park Gazebo, Begins at 7 p.m. Directed by CSF Artistic Director Tyson Douglas Rand. Tempted by the prophecies of three witches, Macbeth’s bloodthirsty quest to get and keep the crown leads him into a nightmarish world of deceit, betrayal, murder and madness. Bay Recreation Dept. Family Fun Night: Saturday, August 5 – FREE FOR RESIDENTS! Time: 7 p.m., Movie will start at dusk! Location: Cahoon Memorial Park (west side, near soccer fields) Bring along your entire family for a night of free family fun! There will be various activities for all ages, such as face painting, jewelry making and games. The real fun begins at dusk with a movie shown on a 10×14 foot screen. Bring your blankets and come early to receive free popcorn and a good spot on the lawn!

Huntington Playhouse Liquidation Sale: The Huntington Playhouse was established in 1958 and sits on the site of John Huntington’s carriage house. It started as a small summer theater, and grew into a place with a 240-seat auditorium. The Playhouse had its last season in 2015. In the summer of 2017 BAYarts began working to clean out the venue. Lake Erie Nature & Science Center Perseid Meteor Shower Night: Saturday, August 12 at 7:30 p.m. – For families with children ages 3+. Enjoy an engaging planetarium presentation about meteors and get the chance to hold an actual meteorite! Take part in a kitchen comet demonstration to get a close up look at these dirty snowballs and learn how they create meteor showers.
