Summer Theater Camp Takes Center Stage

Thank you Rose Senior Living!

Theater Camp took center stage at The Rose Senior Living of Avon for five weeks during summer vacation for students of TrueNorth Cultural Arts.

Theater Camp took place over several two-week sessions for students ranging from preschool to high school age.

The Camp culminated with two performance of Stephen Sondheim’s musical, “Into the Woods.” The performances were held at The Rose on Aug. 11 and the new Emerald Event Center the same weekend.

Camps at the Rose were tailored to kids of each session’s age group. Act Like an Animal was hosted to preschoolers and kindergarteners, while Magic Tree House appealed to elementary school aged students. Into the Woods highlighted the talents and middle- and high-schoolers.

“TrueNorth would like to thank Rose Senior Living and their staff for making us feel so welcomed this summer,” said TrueNorth Cultural Arts Director Richard Fortney. “Thank you.”

By hosting camps like the TrueNorth Summer Theater series, The Rose Senior Living demonstrates a commitment to integrating community into the everyday lives of its residents. Next week, The Rose will host a talk by Avon Police Chief Richard Bosley on “Senior Scams and How to Avoid Them.” Please see ad below for details.
