Two-Day Event Will Feature Music, Dancing and Games of Chance
St. Bernadette parish announces its fourth annual Heart & Harvest Festival, a celebration on the parish grounds. It is slated for Saturday and Sunday, September 9-10. “The event is filled with great food, music and a welcoming spirit that will appeal to adults, children and seniors,” according to Rev. Philip G. Racco, pastor.
“Our festival will feature two great bands, (The Sloppy Joe Band on Saturday night, and Revolution Pie Beatles Tribute Band on Sunday), great food served by our Kitchen and outdoor grill, an Irish dance performance, and games for youth. There will be plenty to do,” said Racco. “We will start with 5 PM Mass on Saturday, September 9 and then move to the food tents where the extravaganza will begin.”
According to Fr. Racco, this year’s raffle will include three prizes: a first prize of $10,000, second prize of $5,000, and a third prize of one year school tuition at St. Bernadette School (or $3,250).
Games of chance are planned starting Saturday evening. The casino will feature blackjack, Texas hold ‘em and other games. Casino and Bingo are scheduled for Sunday afternoon. The drawings for gift baskets and raffle prizes will take place on Sunday beginning at 5:15 pm.
The Festival provides an opportunity to enhance community spirit and to enjoy a musical extravaganza during the weekend after Labor Day, when people can still enjoy longer summer days with dancing, great food and fellowship.
