Westlake High’s long tradition of celebrating homecoming was enjoyed in festive style last week.
A parade featuring the Rose Court and other elements of the Westlake community kicked off from Lee Burneson at 5:30 Friday afternoon and made its way to UH SJMC Field at the high school for the football game.
The Demons took on tough Avon and fell to the league-leading Eagles. But Westlake got on the scoreboard early and had the game tied in the first quarter.
A highlight of the night was the introduction of this year’s Westlake Alumni Hall of Fame class. Inductees included Tom Beres (’68) – Distinguished Alum who devoted a lifetime career to broadcast journalism; Karen Swanson Haan ’99- Athletic; George Christ & Ken Krepop- Honorary Faculty Alumns: and the Dean Family – Lifetime Achievement Hall of Fame.
