CARE for AIDS

CARE for AIDS empowers HIV + parents to live long and healthy lives in order to raise their children. Centers operate in communities throughout Kenya, and each center is located within a local Kenyan church. Each center has two counselors who guide a class of 80 clients at a time through a nine-month program. Throughout the program these clients experience transformation in five areas: physical, emotional, social, economic and spiritual. To date, there are 48 centers, 123 African staff, 10,053 graduates, 32,230 orphans prevented and 2,618 faith decisions. www.careforaids.org

Feeding Children Everywhere

Feeding Children Everywhere is activating people for a hunger-free world. FCE is committed to providing healthy meals for hungry children and families and to creating self-sufficient and sustainable communities through our program areas. By partnering with food pantries, NGOs, orphanages and schools, and providing them with life-saving nutritious meals, FCE is helping to break the cycle of hunger and hopelessness here in the U.S. and abroad. www.feedingchildreneverywhere.com

What Is A CARE For AIDS Hunger Project?

Hunger projects are a high-energy, practical and hands-on way for anyone to make a tangible difference in the fight against global hunger. With music booming, lentils flying and a sea of hairnets, our volunteers work together to create a truly dynamic experience and the by product? Healthy meals packaged for hungry children along the way. Here’s an example of a CARE for AIDS Hunger Project: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UsQ2YujSnIc

About The Meal

Feeding Children Everywhere has a commitment to those we serve — to provide the healthiest meal possible for children and families around the world. This is why we chose to work directly with a nutritionist to put together the ingredients of our delicious Red Lentil Jambalaya. It is all-natural with no artificial flavorings and a sustainable addition to the daily diet.

100,000 Meals For Kenya

The 100,000 meals packed at the Hunger Project on November 18th will be shipped to Nairobi, Kenya and distributed to families affected by HIV/AIDS through our partners at CARE for AIDS. Feeding Children Everywhere is able to alleviate some of CARE for AIDS’ food expense, so they can focus on their main goal — empowering Kenyan families affected by HIV/AIDS. By reducing their food cost, CARE for AIDS is able to expand to more communities and provide more healthy meals and support to Kenyan families. Clients who participate in CARE for AIDS’ program do not just receive food, they also receive medical assistance, counseling on a variety of health and emotional topics, and training in practical skills that empower them to earn a living. Our meal not only partners well with the antiretroviral (ARV) medication to help boost its effectiveness but also serves as an incentive to participate in and complete the program.
