Fleeing Shoplifting Suspect Bites Store Employee in Westlake

A bold daylight shoplifting spree in Westlake on Dec. 3 turned wild when a suspect bit a store employee who tried to thwart the robbers and then threw a liquor bottle through the rear window of the suspect’s fleeing car.

The action took place at 5:58 p.m. when 2 black males and a black female stole $377 worth of Patron and Moet-brand alcoholic beverages from the store at 30664 Detroit Rd. (not the Giant Eagle grocery store).

The ferocious female bit a 25 year old male employee on the chest as he tried to stop her from exiting. He did not require medical attention.

They fled in a white four-door sedan with the license plate covered up.

The bitten employee threw a wine bottle at the departing suspect vehicle, breaking the rear window.

The same toothsome trio is suspected of a similar theft at the same store on Nov. 18. $350 worth of Patron-brand tequila was taken in that instance, although no force was used, including gnawing, chomping, and/or rending of flesh.

Anyone who can ID the suspects is asked to call Westlake PD at 440.871.3311.
