Bay to Hold Community Police Academy

The Bay Village Police Department is hosting a 12 week Community Police Academy.

This free program is open to all of those 21 years of age and older but Bay Village residents will be given priority for enrollment.

Classes will be held every Thursday starting March 1, 2018 at the Bay Village Police Department. The course will cover multiple areas of law enforcement and will include lecture and hands on exercises.

Bay Blotter news this week:

On January 29, 2018 a Glen Park resident arrived on station to report that her home had been burglarized. The resident stated items were taken while she was hosting an open house. The resident reports medication and flashlights were stolen. The homeowner stated that numerous people had been through the house during the day and the list of suspects is extensive.

On Friday February 2, 2018 at around 11:54pm, Bay Village Police stopped a vehicle on Dover Center Road at the railroad tracks for an equipment violation. The 41 year old Westlake male failed field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for O.V.I. The male refused to submit to a breath test. He is facing charges in Rocky River Municipal Court.

On Friday February 2, 2018 at around 12:17am, Bay Village Police stopped a vehicle on Lake Road at Porter Creek for a moving traffic violation. The 35 year old Lakewood female failed field sobriety tests and was placed under arrested for O.V.I. The female refused to submit to a breath test. She is facing charges in Rocky River Municipal Court.  

On Friday February 2, 2018 at around 2:35am, Bay Village Police stopped a vehicle on Wolf Road at Vineland road for a moving traffic violation.  The 24 year old Elyria female failed field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for O.V.I. The female refuse to submit to a breath test. She is facing charges in Rocky River Municipal Court.
