A suspicious vehicle reported by a Bay resident on May 10 led to the arrest of one occupant of the purported ‘tree trimming’ truck.
On 05/10/2018, at 1740 hrs, a resident in the 400 block of Juneway called BVPD to report a suspicious vehicle in the neighborhood. The caller indicated the truck was driving very slowly through the area, and the occupants would get out and run up to various houses. Officers located the vehicle and spoke with the occupants. They were soliciting business for a tree trimming company. There was no valid driver in the group, so the vehicle was impounded. One of the occupants was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested. The 30-year old Springfield, Ohio resident will face charges at RRMC.
Drunk Driver Reported
On 05/12/2018, at 2056 hrs, a motorist called BVPD to report he was following a possible drunk driver on Wolf Rd. in the area of Dover Center. The suspect vehicle pulled into Bay Square and parked. Officers located the vehicle in the parking lot. After speaking with the 32-year old male driver, the officers suspected he had been drinking. Field sobriety tests were administered, and as a result, the driver was arrested for OVI. The Pennsylvania resident will face charges at RRMC.
Stoned at Dover Commons
On 05/09/2018, at 1150 hrs, a business employee in Dover Commons reported there was a female who appeared to be high on drugs at the shopping center. The caller was concerned for her wellbeing due to her disheveled state. Officers located the female sitting on the floor of the business sorting through her belongings looking for money. Officers spoke with her and she granted them permission to go through her purse. Inside they located Drug Abuse Instruments. The 25-year old Bay Village resident was arrested. She will face charges at RRMC.
On 05/13/2018, at 0225 hrs, a BVPD officer stopped a vehicle on Dover Center near the railroad tracks for a traffic violation. After speaking with the 26-year old male driver, the officer suspected the driver had been drinking. Field sobriety tests were administered, and as a result, the driver was arrested for OVI. The Westlake resident will face charges at RRMC.
