UH St. John Medical Center Giving Tree

Radiologist Dan Breen and St. Kendra Bottoms at the UH St. John Medical Center Giving Tree.

Hospital staff at UH St. John Medical Center have worked to the max ever since the start of the pandemic. Long hours of patient care, extra shifts and the stress of intense work.

All that does not exempt health care workers from personal challenges in daily living. They face crises just like everyone else.

To alleviate the burden some of these folks face at holiday time, University Hospitals St. John Medical Center has placed its annual Giving Tree in the hospital cafeteria. Organized by hospital volunteers and the Missions and Ministry team, those qualifying for the program have a tag with a gift request ($30 limit) placed on the tree. Those wanting to help can take a tag and fulfill the gift request (Walmart gift card, Starbucks gift card, childrens items) and return them to the front desk. They will be delivered to Sr. Kendra Bottoms of the Mission & Ministry team for distribution to the recipients.

Many hospital employees chip in this way at holiday time to support their co-workers. It is a great way to share in the spirit of the season!
