As a young sales executive in the healthcare profession, Tanner Salyer decided it was time to escape the excessive rent increases of an upscale west shore lifestyle community.
He was more interested in a good value that will protect his investment, grant equity growth and provide the same, if not greater, quality of life he is accustomed to. When he discovered the opportunity for single family home ownership at Treadway, he said it was a “no-brainer.” After a lengthy search for a home town, Treadway Ponds was his answer and he is excited to move in.
What attracted you to Treadway Ponds?
“My rent was increasing pretty drastically. It was definitely time to buy. I am from Sandusky so Treadway Ponds is close to home and my family. Then there is the price. I was 30 months into looking at houses. I was pretty exhausted and I had pretty much given up. Then I saw these posted and it was game over.”
What do you like about the design?
“I like that you have some say-so into what is going to be built inside. You can choose and pick out certain upgrades. The attached garage was really important to me. And then there is location, location, location.”
Have you been watching your home’s design come to life?
“I feel like I’ve been driving by that place every three weeks or so just to see what is getting done. Now that the foundations are being poured, I am sure things are really going to go up quick.”
What are you enjoying most about the building process?
“It is very painless. It is very easy working with Mike. He answers every question, and if he doesn’t know something he finds out and gets back to you right away.
What do you say to others who are shopping for a home?
“I would say if people are in the market looking for a new build, Treadway Ponds is something to check out. It is Lorain County taxes, too. It may be a little far out from the city, but not everyone needs to be near the wine bars and singles places. It is a slower pace for starting a family.”

What do you want the prospective buyer to know?
“New construction under $200,000 for a two bedroom home and under $250,000 for multiple bedrooms is unheard of in this economy in terms of affordability,” says DeAnna. “At this price range, our thinking is that this is an opportunity for folks who are downsizing to easily get into something new and affordable.”
Tell me about the neighborhood?
Treadway Ponds is located at the end of Treadway Blvd. off Lake Road. The popular Amber Oaks restaurant is on the corner of Treadway and Lake Roads.
