Avon Arbor Day

The Avon Tree Commission hosted its second annual Arbor Day celebration at Every Child’s Playground last Saturday.

Mayor Bryan Jensen welcomed guests and presented Ram Appana with a proclamation recognizing the global Save Soil movement committed to addressing the global soil crisis.

Avon City Arborist Richard Varga demonstrated the proper way to plant a tree, and a sapling giveaway shared new trees with those who attended. It was a casual day of community with an important message of the commitment to maintaining our natural environment.
