North Coast Rotary Blankets for Beds Project

The North Coast Rotary Club and Foundation has gotten off to a great start with their Blankets for Beds project, collecting over 2,000 new and gently used blankets to benefit local people in need. Now that the winter season is upon us, more organizations have requested blankets. Include but not limited to, Neighborhood Alliance, United Way, Lorain County Coordinated Entry, Blessing House, Good Knights of Lorain County, and veterans organizations. “North Coast Rotary is committed to our motto of Service Above Self,” Joe Matuscak, President of North Coast Rotary said. “We are excited to partner with these organizations to provide the gift of warmth to many local residents.”

If you are interested in supporting Blankets for Beds, you can drop off new or gently used blankets at any one of the three Ridge Cleaners locations: 32805 Pin Oak Parkway in Avon Lake, 32488 Center Ridge Road in North Ridgeville, and 900 Amchester Street in Amherst. You can bring the blankets during regular business hours, but please don’t put them in the after-hours drop box. Each blanket will be cleaned and prepared for distribution at no cost to you. Thank you to Ridge Cleaners for championing this project. Other drop off sites include French Creek YMCA, Main Event, Avon, Avon Lake and Sheffield Lake libraries. Fluvitex USA, located in Groveport, OH, has donated hundreds of irregular blankets that have also been distributed in Lorain County.
