In today’s digital age, the pursuit of love often unfolds through apps and social media.  However, in the charming 1890’s matchmakers like Dolly Gallagher Levi reigned supreme.  When tasked with finding love for the grumpy half-millionaire, Horace Vandegelder, Dolly finds herself yearning for his affection instead!

What ensues is the hilarious musical comedy, “Hello, Dolly!”, performed by Westlake High School Demon Drama Club. General Seating/Tickets are $10 (cash/check to WHS Drama Club only) and are available at the door. Performance dates/times are April 18-20 @ 7pm | April 21 @ 2pm.

The musical features more than 100 students from a wide range of clubs and activities. In addition to the Drama Club and choirs that typically compose the cast and crew, Westlake High School’s production also taps into the instrumental department for the orchestra and the TechMates who are designing and 3-D printing sets and props.

As well as having 100+ students involved, the musical has also double cast all 9 lead roles, with each lead performing two shows. Dolly & Horace, performed by seniors Sam Jordanger and Thomas Rintamaki, will lead the cast for the April 18 & 20th performances.  Senior Audrey Morrison and junior Martin Bala will lead the cast for the April 19th & 21st performances.

“I love seeing this diverse group of students collaborate to bring the latest technological advances to a musical made in the 1960s,” said Jennifer Yachanin-Butler, Director. “In a world of online dating, it is fun to see these teens get excited about an old-fashioned story of matchmaking and love.”

Come support the Westlake High School Demon Drama Club and watch love unfold the antiquated way this coming April!
