City of Avon, Meijer Team to Assist Storm-Affected Seniors

Avon Mayor Bryan Jensen and city officials met with Meijer Stores representatives on Thurs., Aug. 22 to present Community Resource Services with $5,000 in gift cards donated by Meijer Stores, which the City of Avon matched.

Presenting a gift of $10,000 to support Avon seniors affected by storms: Steve Presley, Avon Finance Director, Mary Berges, Council at Large, Leah Brown, Meijer Market Manager, Scott Radcliffe, Council Ward One, Michael Jodrey, Meijer Store Manager, Mayor Bryan Jensen, Tony Moore, Council Ward 3, Pam Ohradzansky, CRS, and Carrie Rae, Senior Center Social Worker.

 

This generous contribution aims to assist senior citizens who experienced power outages and food loss due to the recent severe storm. Seniors receive $100 gift cards.

The presentation took place at Avon City Hall. Representatives from Community Resource

Services and the Avon Senior Center were in attendance to receive the donations and discuss

the ongoing support for our senior community.

The event highlights the collaborative effort between local government, businesses, and

community organizations to support those in need during challenging times.
