North Coast Rotary Showcases Student Chefs in Successful Fundraiser

On Saturday, April 18, North Coast Rotary—alongside presenting sponsor Tri-C Westshore—hosted its premier annual fundraiser, the Culinary & Wine Experience, at the Tri-C campus in Westlake. The event was further supported by Platinum Sponsor Bendix Corporation; Gold Sponsors Ray’s Auto and Truck Service, Peters & Company Jewelers, Dr. Cathy R. Pugh, and Jinnyn Tata/Richard Benoit; and Silver Sponsor L’Nique Linens.

More than 150 guests attended the successful evening, enjoying a sensory experience where inventive cuisine was expertly paired with regional wines. In his remarks, Dr. Tim Dorsey noted that for over half of the guests, it was their first opportunity to visit the Tri-C Westshore facility. The event highlighted the creativity and talent of students from four Northeast Ohio culinary programs—Frederick Douglass High School, Lorain County JVS, Tri-C’s Culinary Arts Program, and West Shore Career-Tech—who impressed attendees with their culinary skills.

Each team drew inspiration from a different region—France, Italy, Spain, and America—preparing distinctive small bites paired with carefully selected wines. The evening was further enhanced by live music from students in the Tri-C Creative Arts Program, as well as a variety of silent auction items, themed raffle baskets, and a 50/50 cash raffle.

North Coast Rotary is deeply grateful for the tremendous support shown at our fundraiser. The evening was filled with a warm, lively atmosphere, the student chefs impressed guests with their exceptional dishes, and the thoughtfully curated wine selections offered something for every palate. “It’s no surprise that everyone enjoyed such a memorable night,” said Cathy Pugh, President of North Coast Rotary. “The proceeds from this event enable us to continue addressing the needs of our communities,” Together, we are making a meaningful impact.
