Westlake 17-Year Old Threatens to Shoot School Staffer

Westlake Police logoA 17-year-old Westlake boy was overheard off campus on Feb. 4 making threats to shoot a High School staff member if he encountered him outside the school premises, report Westlake Police.

The threat was made known to police and school officials on Feb. 6 and a search warrant was served at the suspect’s home. He was arrested for Aggravated Menacing. 15 firearms were confiscated from the residence. He first denied making the threats, then claimed that he was speaking only out of anger.

Swindled

A generous Lakewood man was swindled out of $62 on Feb. 5 at 11:30 PM. The suspect approached him in a tavern and claimed that he was an employee of a nearby Center Ridge Rd. business and was locked out. A locksmith would supposedly let him in but required money up front. When the “employee’ drove off to a gas station instead of waiting for a locksmith, the donor became suspicious and got the license plate of his vehicle. A suspect has been identified.

Car Damaged   

A Fairview Park man’s 2004 Buick was damaged while parked at a family member’s Pineview Dr. home during the early morning hours of Feb. 7. Both sets of taillights and the rear window were broken.

Drunks in the News

An intoxicated 59-year-old homeless man refused to leave a Clague Rd. church on Feb. 7 at 4:48PM after staff told him to. He was arrested for DCI and Trespass. This is the third time since 2012 he has been arrested on the parish grounds, all for alcohol-related offenses.

A 29-year-old Cleveland man couldn’t leave bad enough alone after his 2:50AM Feb. 9 OVI arrest. He felt compelled to tear up his blanket while in a cell; an additional Criminal Damage charge was levied against him.

A 10-year-old Richmar Dr. boy was hit with a pellet from a bb or airsoft gun while he played in his yard on Feb. 9 at 4:20PM. He saw the suspect run from the scene and described him as a male juvenile wearing a black coat and jeans. The victim sustained a minor injury to his arm.

A 33-year-old Cleveland woman was so intoxicated that she had to be transported to St. John Medical Center on Feb. 12 at 1:31AM. She was taken from a Center Ridge Rd. bar by WFD and given a citation for DCI by WPD.
