Westlake Police Bust Credit Card Counterfeiters

Westlake Police have arrested two out-of-state men on an apparent counterfeit credit card spree.

The story began when a Detroit Rd. store reported a credit card fraud on Aug. 11 which occurred the previous day.

The company’s headquarters had issued a warning about 2 suspects. Staff realized that the duo had made a $2376 paint sprayer purchase. The men were located at a Clemens Rd. hotel on Aug. 11 and arrested. Numerous counterfeit credit cards were found in their car. A Cleveland storage locker they had rented was searched and more questionably purchased items from 5 other Northeast Ohio locations were recovered. a 30-year old New Jersey man and 20 year old Florida man were each charged with Felony Theft.
