West Bay Center Celebrates Activity Professionals Week, January 20-26

Every day, activity staff members enrich the lives of those they serve throughout the year and promote the well-being of everyone in their facility at West Bay Center in Westlake.

Activity Professionals Week in January offers the perfect chance to recognize activity employees for all they do to boost our residents’ quality of life.

Pictured are dedicated professionals Judy Trivett (far right), Activities Director, Marisa Conway (middle) and Emily Traster (far left). Missing from the picture is Mya Mustafa and Samantha Hooper.

West Bay Center takes a holistic but Person-Centered approach in the offered daily activities to not only enrich the quality of living, but also to keep resident minds active. Residents are encouraged to offer suggestions and express their choices in the daily calendar of events.

Their caring staff keeps the residents busy whether it involves, baking, intellectual programs, learning Italian, musical programs, movies and of course, bingo. Enjoying themselves on various ‘fun days’ like cabin fever day with a luau, Mardi Gras with Packzi or crazy hat day turn an ordinary day into a celebration.

Residents coming for short term rehab are excited to join in for the activities or exercises of their choice so they do not have to stay in their room in between their therapy programs.

The Recreation Department is not just play-time. If you have a well-rounded routine which includes mental, physical, emotional and social interactions, it can also contribute to a healthier life!

Live your life!
