Avon Safety Fair

Kids had a ball trying police and safety equipment on for size.

The City of Avon hosted its annual Health & Safety Fair at Avon High School on 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on June 8, featuring exhibits, demonstrations, crafts, free stuff, entertainment, games, prizes and food.

Helicopters from the Cleveland Clinic and University Hospitals added to the excitement by landing on the lawn on the high school grounds. A petting farm, Cleveland Monsters street hockey and safety vehicles were featured. Families were able to have child identification cards printed as well

Safety service equipment gave kids a chance to climb on the big trucks, and the Lorain County Sheriff Dept. brought its state-of-the-art robotic gear for fascinating demonstrations of handling explosives. Health & Safety Exhibits added to the fun and learning opportunities.
