Adults-Only Easter Egg Hunt Supports Education

The Avon Garden Club had adults hopping along the bunny trail at Veteran’s Park last Saturday with an Adults-Only Easter Egg Hunt.

The event was a scholarship fundraiser available to high school seniors residing in Avon who will be majoring in a course of study aligning with the Avon Garden Club’s mission, according to scholarship committee chairperson Cynthia Murnyack-Czarnecki.

Students with proposed academic study in agriculture, botany, forestry, horticulture, landscaping or natural resources are eligible for this scholarship.

Nearly 200 participants supported the event as they braved the wet grass to scramble for some 900 eggs, some with special prizes.

It was a great way to bring the community together for a fun outdoor event, increase awareness of the availability of the scholarship program and attract interested parties to apply for the scholarship.
