The annual University Hospitals St. John Medical Center Golf Outing was hosted at Red Tail Golf Course the afternoon of Oct. 4.

Led by the UH St. John Medical Center Leadership Team, golfers enjoyed a day on the links under sun-splashed skies. 80 golfers participated, raising more than $28,000 for hospital 2022-23 capital expenses.  Committee members included UH SJMC COO Jonathan Sague, Sr. Executive Asst, Kelly Butterfield, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Gil Padula, Chief Nursing Officer Cathy Knorzer, Executive Assistant Denise Davis, Director of Operations and Clinical Services Heidi Filer, Manager of Advanced Practice Providers Michael Joyce, Patient Experience Manager Cindy Stec, and Development Officer Wayne Nieman.

The fine October day also featured UH volunteers running registration and 50/50 raffle. UH Community outreach was on hand giving health screenings, and a physical therapist provided an injury clinic with complimentary massages. EMS responders were available on site.

A highlight of the day was the inception of the “Nurse Sponsor” level of donation that allowed companies to pay for nurses and hospital staff to enjoy a day of golf.

Golfers were treated to breakfast, lunch, door prizes, and 18 holes of golf. The evening concluded with a cocktail reception with silent auction, dinner and awards.

“Today was a great day for St John Medical Center. I’m so proud of our Leadership Team for putting this successful event together, in support of all of the great things we are doing at the hospital. Overall, there was a great sense of community here today,” said Jonathan Sague, UH St John Medical Center Chief Operating Officer.
