Avon Blessing Box

The City of Avon just welcomed a second Blessing Box located at the Senior Center 36784 Detroit Road in Avon.

A Blessing Box is a “Little Free Pantry”, which provides non perishable food (like cereal, canned soup/pasta, granola bars) as well as hygiene items (including shampoo, soap, toothbrushes/toothpaste and toilet paper) to local residents when they need them. They are unlocked and operate according to the Little Free Pantry motto “Take what you need, Give what you can.”

This exciting project was made by Avon Girl Scout Troop 50451 and donated to the City of Avon. This was made possible with the help of Mayor Jensen and Clare from Avon Parks and Recreation. Amazing things happen when Communities and mayors get involved!

Erin Till, Daniela’s mom, was also present. She has been the Troop Leader since her daughter was in kindergarten.

This makes the ninth box installed by Blessing Boxes by Renee Collins and Joe Pullin, and the second location in Avon.
