New Concepts for Northeast Ohio Coming to Great Northern Mall

Midcentury modern furniture, homemade soft-baked cookies, and quality children’s clothing are the latest additions that shoppers can look forward to at Great Northern Mall.

“We have experienced such an exciting influx of new businesses over the past six months,” said Dan Crandall, marketing and business development manager at Great Northern Mall. “This momentum speaks to the quality and diversity of our customer base, and we are thrilled to welcome these latest additions this summer.”

AVRS

From the owners of Zebrano, which recently opened at Great Northern last December, comes the second location of its Midcentury modern concept, AVRS.

Discover luxury dining, bedroom and living room sets, and a wide range of home décor, including accessories, rugs, and light fixtures. The store will also feature pieces from the brand’s Loda concept, which is described as “a remarkable combination of luxury and modern furniture designs.”

AVRS opened its first location in Columbus in 2019. The new 7,900-square-foot store will open this June in the Dillard’s wing next to Rainbow.

“Great Northern has been a wonderful showplace for the Zebrano brand, and we are thrilled for the opportunity to add a second location for AVRS so close by,” owner Yilmaz Goral said. “We make our furniture in Malaysia and Indonesia and sell to customers throughout the world from our stores.”

Fortune’s Cookies

Also opening this June, Fortune’s Cookies will be baking up homemade cookies in more than 30 flavors, from traditional to nostalgic to a little exotic. The menu also includes gluten-free and vegan options, along with a variety of beverages.

Founded in 2018 by Brook Park resident Beverly Bolton, Fortune’s Cookies began as a favor to a friend who asked for cookies for her housewarming party. “I thought it would be a good side hustle,” Bolton said.

The base recipe was passed down through Bolton’s family, which she used to create her own unique flavors. “First the double chip mocha, then strawberry cream – the flavor ideas just kept coming,” she said. “I guess I am a cookie creative – a flavor artist, if you will.”

The name “Fortune’s” comes from a nickname Bolton has had for many years. While the company does not make actual fortune cookies, according to Bolton, “the fortune is in the flavor.”

Great Northern Mall will be Fortune’s Cookies first commercial location. Fortune’s Cookies co-founder Mark Grcic has fond memories growing up near Great Northern. “We have been serving the community for years, so when looking to expand the business, Great Northern was the obvious choice,” said Grcic. “We pride ourselves on quality, freshness and flavor.”

Fortune’s Cookies will open this June in a 750-square-foot space across from Bath & Body Works.

Carter’s Clearance

Popular children’s clothing brand Carter’s will open its first Carter’s Clearance store in Northeast Ohio this summer at Great Northern.

The store will feature an array of quality baby and children’s clothing that is both stylish and accessible. Shop everything from casual playwear to special occasion apparel at value prices. The clearance concept stays true to the brand’s roots in quality, durability, and craftsmanship.

The 3,500-square-foot store will be in the Macy’s wing near the kids’ play zone.
