Westlake Schools Revive the Annual Senior Citizen Dinner Tradition

Westlake City Schools invited senior citizens from the community to dinner at Westlake High School on May 11, 2023. The dinner was sponsored by Dr. Dvora Nelson owner of Nelson Vein and Surgical Services in North Olmsted.

Approximately seventy-five senior residents of Westlake enjoyed dinner prepared by the high school kitchen staff and served by students from the Key Club and National Honor Society. The Company D Show Choir performed. Some guests even danced to music provided by the Jazz Ensemble. Both the vocal and music programs have recently received recognition in state competition.

Superintendent, Dr. Scott Goggin said, “It was fun to bring this event back to life. We enjoyed being able to connect with some of our senior citizens. This dinner enables people to visit our high school building and interact with the students even if they don’t have a direct connection to the schools.”
