The Westlake Porter Public Library Board of Trustees appointed Celeste Fortunato as the library’s new Fiscal Officer at their regular Board Meeting on Wednesday, July 16.
Fortunato came to WPPL from Sandusky Public Library, where she was also the Fiscal Officer. She has also served in public service accounting positions with the Lorain Public Library System, Lorain County Community College and the City of Lakewood. Earlier in Fortunato’s career she held accounting positions in public industry and banking. She received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Youngstown State University.
A native of Northeast Ohio, Fortunato saw the move to WPPL as bringing her back to her roots. “Westlake Porter Public Library is a great library in a great community, and brought me back to the area I grew up in. It’s a great place to continue my career,” said Fortunato.
“The library is fortunate to have a Fiscal Officer of Celeste’s caliber join our team,” said Board of Trustees President Will Perry. “We’re confident that she’ll continue our record of fiscal responsibility into the future.”
Fortunato replaces Jana Nassif, who left the library in early June.
