15-year-old Bay Village Native Participates in Marine Corp Marathon

Cassie Cicarella, a 15-year-old sophomore at Magnificat High School from Bay Village, successfully completed the 50th Marine Corps Marathon on Sunday, October 26, 2025! After her Cross-Country season concluded, she ran with over 40,000 registered runners in Washington DC. Cassie finished with a competitive time of 4:04! Cassie ran the marathon with her mother and in honor of her grandfather, Kenneth Walsh, a United States Marine Corps Vietnam Veteran.

The Marine Corps Marathon is one of the few marathons that allow under 18-year-olds to race. Cassie placed 2,101 out of 12,344 total females, and 7,579 out of 30,137 overall finishers. It was the 50th anniversary of the race this past Sunday and is the third largest marathon in the United States. Semper Fidelis!
