Keller Shea (senior) will be participating in the All-State Jazz Ensemble for the second time. Devon Gerig (senior) will be participating in the All-State Band. Iris Hunt (sophomore) will be participating in the All-State Choir. These students were chosen from recorded auditions. The Ohio Music Educators Association Conference (OMEA) will be held at the Greater Columbus Convention Center from Jan. 29-31, 2026. The students will rehearse with their groups Wednesday and Thursday, and perform either Friday or Saturday during the conference.

Below is some additional information about these three students, as well as a statement from each.

  • Keller Shea – At Bay High School, I am involved in the pit orchestra and jazz ensemble programs. “I’m honored to be selected for this group. It is an incredible opportunity we have as young musicians to connect and play at a higher level.” Editor’s Note: This is the second year in a row that Keller has been named.
  • Devon Gerig – At Bay High School, I’m involved in Symphonic Band, Marching Band, Jazz Ensemble and Chamber Orchestra. Outside of Bay High, I have participated in the OMEA Solo/Ensemble Competition multiple times, am a member of the Cleveland Youth Wind Symphony, the OMEA North-East Regional Orchestra and also a member of the Bay Presbyterian Brass Ensemble. “It’s an honor to be named to the OMEA Allstate Band. I am grateful for the time and support from all of my music teachers.”
  • Iris Hunt – At Bay High School, I am a part of the drama club and stage crew, SAGA and YPF. I also am big on ceramics and dance, but that is outside of school. “Being recognized and chosen to be a part of the OMEA All-State Choir means a lot to me because I really love music and singing, but also that I was the one chosen out of an amazing group of talented singers. I am so thankful to be recognized for this opportunity and look forward to representing Bay Village well.”
