Westlake Coach Inducted into National Wrestling Hall of Fame

Congratulations to long-time Westlake High wrestling coach Mike Antonyzyn, inducted into the Ohio Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame and Museum on Oct 12 in ceremonies at Villa Milano Banquet & Conference Center in Columbus. Antonyzyn is a 1968 graduate of Westlake High. He went on to teach and coach at the school. After retirement, he has stayed active with the program and was inducted into the Westlake High Hall of Fame in 2016. He was also awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award upon his retirement in 2014. Antonyzyn was among 8 inductees in the 2025 Ohio Chapter Class of the NWHFM.

“Ant well deserves this award for all of the kids he has helped,” said local wrestling great Mike DeAnna. “He had about half the crowd at the ceremony there just for him!”
